Merry Christmas

It is difficult to keep my kids calm this week as they are all ready for the Christmas break. What makes it worse is that I am just as or more excited as them. Thanks to Kara for taking this picture of our family.

Last weekend I went to Sacramento to give my sister a baby shower! It was so much fun. To make the trip even better my great friend Annie drove 2 hours to come and see me. It was a super weekend. I love being around my sister, she always makes me laugh.

My Sweet Pumpkin

This was the picture I have been wanting. Thus, the two pumpkin patches in search for the perfect pumpkin. She is such a trooper, I didn't think she would like the pumpkin, but she loved it. We put her in, and she sat right down and made herself comfortable.

This year we were in search of the perfect pumpkin. We wanted to find one big enough for Emery to fit in. We went to 2 pumpkin patches trying to find a large and affordable pumpkin. We had to take pictures with the pumpkins.

Emery is exploring her hands. I love watching her look at them in amazement at how they move.

Estes Park

Last weekend we went up to Estes Park, for a family mini vacation. I thought it woud be nice to get away from life for a while and just take it easy. We packed a picnic lunch and headed up to the mountains.

It was a beautiful drive up, as the leaves were changing colors. However, once we were there, it wasn't as enjoyable. It was so crowded. I think everyone is finding out about our mini- vacation spot and enjoying it themselves. There were so many people there we couldn't just stroll downtown, or even drive around for that matter. We enjoyed our picnic, took a short walk and came back home. It was nice family time.

6 month stats.

We took Emery to the Dr. this week for her 6 month check up. She turned 6 months on Aug. 15th. She was 17.10 pounds (76%) and 26.5 inches long (70%).

She is getting so big. She started rolling over on the 4th of July, but now she can go from one side of the room to the other in no time at all. She is just giggling and cooing and making all sorts of sounds. I love just hugging, kissing and loving this sweetie. We are truely blessed to have her in our life.

Emery was playing with Shilo's ball. That didn't last too long. Emery loves looking at and playing with Shilo. She, however, isn't too sure what to think of Emery.

Back to school

Yes, I am now back in school. For those of you who didn't know, I am not teaching 1st grade any more. I am now back in 2nd grade. I decided to move to work with a good friend, and member of the church. It is truly a blessing to work with her as it is making my transition in coming back to work and leaving my sweet daughter much easier. It is a bit more work, re-learning the curriculum, but well worth it.

I do miss Emery, but realize each day what a blessing it is that I have her here, in my arms to love and hold each day....even if it requires me to have to work. I am also blessed to have my mom so close to school to watch my sweet baby girl. I get to see her during my lunch break to feed her and sometimes during a planning period if I need a quick hug.

Summer Vacation

We started our summer vacation in San Diego, to visit Grandpa Walker and his dog Bailey. We had a great time, relaxing and visiting with each other. Then we were on our way up to Orange County to visit Brett's family. We stopped at the beach on the way to listen to the waves crash and get a family picture.
While in Orange County we went to visit Brett's sister Vicci, and niece Alicia and her new baby Kaylie. We took Emery swimming for the first time. She wasn't too sure what to think.

Emery watched the waves for a while. When we put her down and the wave came up to her she pulled her leg up so fast. She didn't like it too much.

Grandma Gambill was in Orange County for our visit. We got to see so many friends and family we had a great time.

Of course being Brett's daughter, we have to expose Emery to baseball at an early age. 4 1/2 months old and at her first game. She was great, as she enjoyed watching everything around her.

4th of July

We had a great holiday weekend. Shawn and Natalie and little sweet Mia were here. We enjoyed their visit.

Thanks Carrie for the cute onesie. Who can name the movie this line comes from? Ahh yes, we would watch this movie many nights back in the Ricks College days.

Sunday Dress

It is so fun to dress Emery up every Sunday and put on a new dress.

We were so blessed with baby showers that playing dress up with my sweet girl is so much fun.

Going for a walk

With summer here I am trying to get some exercise. Here is Emery all ready to go for a walk with Mommy and Shilo.

Bath Time

Emery loves the bath. She splashes, kicks and giggles. It is so much fun to watch her move and explore the surroundings around her. The water is so much fun.

Cabbage Patch Kid

Emery is looking more like a Cabbage Patch Kid. Chubby cheeks, small nose and a great big smile. She is so much fun and a happy baby. I am enjoying every minute of my summer break with her.

Blessing Day

Thanks so much to the family and Friends who came out for Emery's big day. May 4th, 2008. Emery sure looked like a cutie. It was so good to see everyone and feel your love and support.

Those who came were: Grandpa Walker, Grandma Gambill, Grandma and Grandpa Knudtson, Uncle Tyler and Aunt Cynthia and all the cousins, Aunt Vicci and cousin Alicia and her daughter Kaylie, and Ralph Rogers. This day was extra special as Emery's 2nd cousin Kaylie was blessed the same day.

We took a trip out to Utah when Emery was 2 months old. Grandma got her laughing and giggling.

Here it goes. With Emery here, I thought this might be fun to keep everyone in the loop with her growth and the exciting things she is up to. I figured if Carrie could do it, I should be able to figure it out too. It may take a while to get up and running so give it some time.
